Introduction
The Siau Scops Owl is a very small owl with ear-tufts. While recognised as a distinct species by the International Ornithological Congress, others consider it as a subspecies of either the Sulawesi Scops Owl Otus manadensis or Moluccan Scops Owl Otus magicus.

Distribution: Siau Island, north of Sulawesi.
Status: Listed as 'Critically Endangered' by Birdlife International.
